International Caravan Inc. (I.C.I.) is a family-owned and operated Import, Wholesale, and Mail Order business based in Fort Worth, Texas. It was founded in 1967 by H.A. Shaban, who received a Masters Degree from S.M.U. in the late 1950's . Upon its inception, International Caravan primarily imported ceramic pottery from two company-owned factories in Mexico. Later, in the early 70s, ICI moved its operating facilities from Central Expressway and Mockingbird Lane to the Harry Hines Business district of Dallas, Texas and began to focus more on the importation of Floral Products from Asian countries such as Thailand and the Philippines. By the mid-eighties, ICI began extensive importation from countries such as China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, continuing primarily with floral products and adding some promotional furniture. During this period, ICI again moved its operating facilities, this time to the Historic Wayne Feed Mill complex just 3 miles East of downtown Fort Worth. As ICI continued to grow its operation into the 90s, we began to shift our product focus more into the realm of home décor. In the mid-90s, ICI purchased an office building (which has since been recognized as a historic building) right next to the Historic Wayne Feed Mill & Silo Buildings; to this day, this office building remains ICI’s primary administrative office. Around this time, ICI also constructed an additional 65,000 square foot warehouse adjacent to this administrative office to accommodate its ever-expanding product line. As the new millennium dawned, ICI again shifted its product focus, this time to adjust to the growing mail-order and eCommerce drop shipping market. ICI’s product began to consist heavily of outdoor furniture and home decor' that could be “knocked down” and shipped directly to the customer; however, ICI still to this day maintains some of the early décor that characterized the company’s handicraft beginnings. Today, International Caravan stands as a leader in the burgeoning Outdoor Furniture eCommerce market, its clientele ranging from Billion dollar internet retailers to small mom-and-pop décor businesses, its suppliers stretching from Indonesia to Vietnam to China. Above all, ICI prides itself on the responsibility with which it conducts business, the sustainability of its products, the loyalty it shows its clients and its employees, and the satisfaction of every customer who purchases an ICI product.
